Revise words, not reels.

UPSC, CAT, GRE, IELTS, banking — or just a semester of heavy reading. Open your PDFs and editorials in a quiet reader, save every new word with the sentence it came from, and review it with spaced-repetition flashcards. Your focus garden grows while you stay on the page.

Free forever for reading, highlights, read-aloud, streaks and 50 flashcards. Plus from ₹67/month on the annual pass. No account, works offline, your notes stay on your device.

The 10-minute editorial routine

Context first. Then memory.

Built around two classic study habits: learning words in context and reviewing them at spaced intervals. Here’s the loop.

  1. Open the PDF

Today’s editorial, your coaching notes, a reading-list book: EPUB, PDF, TXT or Markdown. Nothing is uploaded.

  2. Double-click new words

Get the meaning on the page. Save the word and Read Rebel keeps its sentence. “Explain” names and concepts with a Wikipedia summary.

  3. Use it once

Write your own sentence with the word — great practice for essays and answer writing — and get instant tips.

  4. Review daily

Spaced-repetition flashcards bring words you find hard back sooner and easy ones later. A few minutes a day.

What's inside

A study reader that doesn’t shout.

Reading lists, matched to you

One right book beats ten in your cart.

Pick “Exam prep” or “Vocabulary & English” in the 2-minute diagnosis and your coach suggests one book from a curated English and Hindi list, with two alternates. Get it wherever you like, then read it here.

  • Small sessions at the time you usually scroll, growing by 2 minutes after a steady week.
  • “This book isn’t working” is allowed — swap to an alternate.

Quiet reader, focus tools

Nothing on the page but the page.

A distraction-free reader that works offline. The focus lens dims every paragraph except the one you’re on, and the focus garden grows a plant while you stay in your book.

  • Atkinson Hyperlegible font, bionic emphasis and full screen.
  • Read-aloud with word-by-word highlighting for revision, 0.5×–3×.
  • Highlights, notes and a searchable Notebook with Markdown export.
  • Soundscapes like rain and brown noise, and all 12 themes Plus
The Read Rebel reader with a chapter in a serif font and a highlighted sentence.

Streaks that forgive

Consistency without the exam-season guilt.

Mock tests and family functions happen. Plan rest days and your streak stays safe. Miss a session and the next one shrinks — never miss twice.

  • Rebel ranks from Scroll Survivor to Algorithm Slayer, daily quests and a heatmap.
  • Quirky reminders in English or Hinglish, or calm mode with no jokes.
  • A weekly view of minutes read — and roughly how many reels you skipped (an estimate).

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can I use it for UPSC, CAT, GRE or IELTS prep?

Yes, as a reading and vocabulary tool: open your editorials, notes and books, save words in context and review them with spaced repetition. It isn’t a coaching course or a question bank, and we don’t promise scores or ranks.

Does it open my coaching PDFs?

It opens EPUB, PDF, TXT and Markdown files you have on your device, and nothing is uploaded. Scanned image-only PDFs have no selectable text, so word lookups won’t work on those pages.

What’s free, and what needs Plus?

Free forever: unlimited books, highlights and notes, read-aloud at every speed, the coach, streaks, focus garden, three themes and up to 50 flashcards. Plus adds unlimited flashcards, immersive mode, music and soundscapes, all 12 themes, speed reading and recaps.

Does it work without internet?

Once installed, the reader, read-aloud, flashcards and habit tools work offline. Dictionary and “Explain” lookups need a connection.
